Classic Sarawak noodles (Kolok Mee, Tomato Koay Teow, Sarawak Laksa and Kiaw) at 7th Mile Kitchen, (formerly) Petaling Jaya

Updated Feb 2021: The 7th mile kitchen has moved to Cheras :(

We often reminisced how we first found this humble stall at the Restoran Megah Good Luck, Taman Megah, SS24 more than 15 years, and always had good Sarawakian noodles there. They later expanded and moved to their own store here (Address: RG 24, Pangsapuri Kelana Sentral, Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, 47301). As their food is good, it is only reasonable to expect them to open up their own restaurant. Kudos to them.

We had the Sarawakian kolok mee with nice springy noodles, and most importantly, does not taste oily. The flavour was good, and always a favourite with our children.

Of course, for me I can never deny myself their delicious Tomato Koay Teow. What I like about this one especially is the thicker koay teow used. I guess I like biting into the koay teow that I eat :) The flavours good, and I will have no problem slurping the gravy.

The Sarawak Laksa is also very good relative to the competitors in Petaling Jaya. Although my wife bemoans the thin noodles they used, the gravy here is still the best for her.

And now for some Kiaw!!! It's Teochew for dry wonton. Its not really dry (moist) but not in soup. It is not easy to find this in Petaling Jaya, and the ones here are a treat.

The food here is always nice but the waiting was something I wished I could have avoided. But when the food is good, lots of people will inevitably come. That was the situation before COVID-19. However now, they only offer takeaway services, and do not entertain any dine in. Please WHATSAPP (016-2283832) to place your order in advance, state:
- your name
- your order
- your pickup time
- own container (if you are bringing your food container & flask to take away your foods & drinks).

This place will always have a sentimental hold on me. With some many COVID-19 restrictions, I wish them well, and of course, I will keep on supporting them because the food is GOOD.
