No water, let's go Seremban!!
The recent water disruption fiasco at Petaling Jaya caused us to flee to Seremban for a weekend reprieve. My old friend brought us around favourite eating spots at Seremban. The first one was the Bee Kee Restaurant (21A, Jalan Temiang, Seremban, 70200 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan).
We had a scrumptious dinner of salted egg prawns, 1/2 barbeque crispy duck, tong po meat, stir fried vegetable, fried midin and 'cha wang' tea with rice for five adults. All of which costs about RM160. A steal if compared to prices in Kuala Lumpur, and of course, the food was good.
Salted egg prawn; fresh prawns well seasoned with salted egg. I like that I did not get any reaction to these prawns. I surmised the prawns they used did not have any chemical residues (e.g. antibiotics etc).
Tong Po (braised pork belly) meat with fried mantou (steamed Chinese bun); The pork belly had a balanced ratio of fat to meat. The flavour here is sweeter that what I am used to but the children loved it.
Stir fry baby pak choy; Nice. Lightly seasoned and I was able to taste the natural sweetness of the baby pak choy.;
Fried midin with belacan (shrimp paste); What a great find! I now know where to get great midin ('paku'). The belacan was not over powering. Great balance. Great dish. Do not forget to order this if you drop by this place.
For our lunch the next day, we dropped by Quinn Seremban Beef Noodles (108, Jalan Toman 6, Kemayan Square, 70200 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan). Their beef noodles is garnished with well seasoned beef tendon, beef jerky, beef slices etc. Their flavour is strong and quite unique. If you drop by Seremban and you fancy a bowl of beef noodles, you will not go wrong with a beef noodle at Quinn.
