Looking for Asam Laksa, Mee Diao, Mee Jawa, Guan Chang and Chai Kueh? Look no further, go to Taman Bahagia's Kedah Asam Laksa
This stall only opens at night (now with the CMCO; from 7 pm - 10 pm. In the past until 11pm), and is located somewhere behind the SS2 Perodua Service Center. It's address is as below: Jalan SS 2/1, SS 2, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Their Teo Chew Mee Diao makes for a light and healthy 'vegetarian' meal. Look out for their ginger sauce. Spicy and potent! Something you cannot go without.
Their Guan Chang Kueh and Chai Kueh. Nice side dishes to go with a main meal. Both are very different, and will suit a variety of taste buds. I prefer the Guan Chang Kueh which has more bite to it than the soft Chai Kueh (which my wife prefers). Also comes with a nice red chilly sauce for dipping.
What you should be on the look out for is the Asam Laksa. Although it is stated Kedah Asam Laksa, being a Penangite, I cannot bear to write Kedah Asam Laksa especially when it tastes so much like my beloved Ayer Itam Market Asam Laksa. For the many places in Petaling Jaya where I have tried Asam Laksa, this stall has definitely capture the essence of a 'Penang' Asam Laksa!! (albeit from Kedah). So if you are looking for a good Asam Laksa in Petaling Jaya, look no further. This is the stall to go for.
I also like their 'Tong Sui' or Chinese sweet desserts. Where else in Petaling Jaya can you get 'tong sui' for RM2.50 per bowl. It is not even a small bowl but the average serving size of many restaurants, and it tastes good. Below we had the 'bubur gandum' or 'mak chuk' (wheat porridge dessert).
Below, black glutinous rice dessert. Also nice!
